| ![]() | Customer Reviews:![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The Best (11 March 2010)This album is amazing. The best album I have heard in a long time. Florence Welch has the most amazing unique voice. The Best. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Awful (09 March 2010)It just goes to show how easily people can be persuaded by the masses that something can be good. She certainly does have lungs.....but uses them to shout out an awful cacophony akin to fingernails being scratched down a blackboard. Dull, irritating and very overrated. Avoid. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() lungs (06 March 2010)This album is so different and unique. I think you either like florence and the machine it or hate them judging by some peoples reactions to me buying this album. I think it is fantastic, love her voice and all the drums in the tracks. FAB . . buy it!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Florence Regina! (04 March 2010)OK, I'm a latecomer to all this. I came across Florence on 'Hootenanny' on NYE, and was immediately blown away! That voice, the lyrics! Amazing! As far as I'm concerned this young lady has it all in spades! Do your ears a favour, and let Florence into your life. I've listened to girl singers for years, but Florence is the only one to get the hairs on the back of my neck standing up! Yes, she's a bit Gothic, but is that a crime? She's a true original, and I look forward to the follow up, it's bound to be interesting. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Exciting, original and dark (04 March 2010)I am a big fan of You Got The Love, so when I heard someone who clearly was not Candi Staton belting this out I was intrigued and bought the album on an impulse. I am very glad I did. At times Florence reminds me of Siouxsie Sue (another favourite) and she is a breath of fresh air in today's pop world - I agree with the reviewer's comments re a certain Mr S Cowell. Driving drums, at times juxtaposed with delicate harp, great lyrics and an underlying edge to many of the tracks makes for an involving experience, which draws the listener in, not quite sure what to expect next. |
