(30 December 2009)As a lifelong supporter of Manilow's this album reflects the maturity of the man's voice and shows a more middle of the road, 'smuttzy' sound. Too many times in his career has he been criticised for the sound of his common and well known songs yet has never been appreciated for the work, less known to all. Take That and Westlife have thrived on his music, yet still the critics continue. I preferred his first Christmas album, 15 years ago and will always make time to play that over the festive period. Not as good as I thought (18 December 2009)I've got every Barry CD, DVD and Video he's made, but didn't really like this one, was disappointed as it was all Jazz and I'm not a lover of jazz. Beware anyone buying for his usual lovely singing, it's not, it's very jazz. Really sorry folks not my type, but still good if you like Barry and jazz. Can't wait for Greatest Love Songs Ever. A must have (21 November 2009)a must have for christmas, even if you are not a Barry fan you will love it, get you in the mood for christmas |
