| | Customer Reviews: Really rather good (22 October 2008)This is the first Pigeon Detectives album that I have bought, and it is really rather good. Really like it from first listen, only just received it today! It is a little like Franz Ferdinand meets the Arctic Monkeys, both of which I love - so its great!!! Excellent guitar riffs throughout. Couldn't decide whether to go for 4 or 5 stars lol. Dreadful, tired, indie-by-numbers (10 July 2008)In Britain, if you are male, you are expected to like football, drink poor quality lager, behave like an idiot every Friday and Saturday night, and shout "get in!" every time someone says something you like the sound of. The Pigeon Detectives are the soundtrack to the lives of the people who embrace these expectations. good - but not as good as Wait for Me (22 June 2008)The first album was new and had a rawness to it which made it great. This album is good but the songs are not as catchy. I've a feeling they'll grow on me! Still worth the money though. Great! (11 June 2008)This album is much better than the first. More rockier than the first album Wait For Me, which to me sounded the same all the way through. Buy this cd you won't be let down! Carry On Detectives (10 June 2008)There is a subtle difference in the 1st Cd & the latest. Couldn't see me playing the 1st CD, followed by the second. Not to say that neither are sheer brilliance. Trouble with what the Pigeon's have done is the ABC syndrome. Their 1st cd could not be bettered, QUITE SIMPLY... But were here to review the 2nd one. It has classic tracks, will have the audience going wild when the first riff of song starts..."Nothing to do with you", is heart felt, if you cant relate to this track you wont like the Cd. You have to have this cd if your a pigeon fan. If you listen to this CD first, then go onto the 1st...you'll be in heaven. Well done.. More please.. |
