A hot chilled out album (14 October 2003)
This is not your typical rap album in the sense that americanisation of the whole of the rap world, pin points the world rap to bling bling and guns, Ty's first album brings fresh air into the rap world with a whitty and insightful look at his life past and present, and an often emotional view of Urban life, but unlike other UK artist he uses a different but no less effective style, to paint his lyrical masterpeices, "Ghetto Perspective" is probably one on the best UK rap songs that i've ever heard. a great album... bring on the second installment.

London is hip, funky, fresh and home of Ty (19 February 2003)
Must say it was a spot of luck when i discovered this gem of a Hip Hop artist... His album awkward is a great blend of funked-up, sumtimes chilled and jazzy tunes. Coupled with witty lyrics Ty makes for a refreshing break from other rap albums! I bought this CD after hearing just one track, but it was a wise purchase 'cos when u pay 4 this album u pay for top-banana music. My advice is get this if u want a CD with a smooth touch to it and not too hardcore.

  ;Jamboree (01 August 2002)
With a fine blend of poetry and party tunes "Awkward" bestows something to fuel the mind as well as the body and soul. Ty is an articulate, modern day griot with urban story telling conveyed melodically and harmoniously. Inspired by experience and influenced by various ethnic dimensions, this album is a stylistic innovation both in narrative and musical content. At contradistinction with other UK rap artists; it has obvious jazz and blues heritage plus the tradition and origin of the genre encaptured whilst adapting and expressing a culture we can all relate to. Overall a funked up, chilled out album that is a jaunt to listen to. Well done Ty, look forward to hearing from you in the future.

A strong, descriptive album, chilled and smart. (23 March 2002)
TY's album is a good solid album with more hits than misses! I bought it cos i loved the style of 'break the lock' and 'The Tale' which is an excellent lyrical story with a smooth beat and its all pretty much the same apart from 'Zaibo' with its dodge French mc appearance. Overall = good, no more.

Hip Hop Perfection (20 March 2001)
As far as I know Ty has been in the hip hop culture for years, and this albums shows it. Experience and raw skills are large contributing factors to the excellence of this album.

Every track on this album is one you'll want to repeatedly hear. Tracks about personal experiences such as 'Hercules', fun stories such as 'The Tale', raps about his different experiences with jealousy on 'Jealousy', battle raps, French rap and more all demonstrate the musical diversity of this album, and Ty's style.

This album is a pleasant rarity in that it doesn't feature many people at all. The only other MC's who rap on this album are on one track, 'Zaibo', who rap in French.

Ty's rapping style is humorous, mellow and all together refreshing. His lyrics are excellent, not always rhyming... but always sounding smooth and perfect.

All together 'Awkward' is a album well worth buying, and when you do buy it, you're paying for every track on this album in that they're all excellent quality, and if you're anything like me... you'll like them all!
